BIOGRAPHY

Wouter Godijn, born on 31st July 1955 in Amsterdam, has lived in the city of Groningen since the seventies. He has published the novel Witte tongen (White tongues; 1997) and the poetry volumes Alle kinderen zijn van glas (All children are made of glass; 2000), Langzame nederlaag (Slow defeat; 2002) and De karpers en de krab (The carp and the crab; 2003), all with publishers Contact. His 2002 volume was the first club choice of the Poetry Club, chosen by Gerrit Komrij and Neeltje Maria Min.

His poetry and prose has appeared, amongst others, in literary magazines such as 'Awater', 'Bzzlletin', 'Schrijver & Caravan' and 'Noach's kat' and in the newspaper Het Nieuwsblad van het Noorden.

Besides being a writer and poet, Godijn is also a tutor at the Groningen Writer's School. He wrote literary criticism for Het Nieuwsblad van het Noorden and now writes poetry criticism for the Dagblad van het Noorden.
